Vetrazzo countertop material is manufactured right in the Bay Area in Richmond. Local production means less transportation and a smaller carbon footprint.  Vetrazzo is composed of 85% recycled glass in a cementitious base and comes in many dazzling colors.  Vetrazzo is a countertop with a history, which can be read in the variety of glass fragments visible in its surface.  Vetrazzo obtains its glass primarily from neighborhood curbside recycling programs, but also uses glass from other sources such as windshields, windows and stained glass manufacture  Particularly lovely “special editions” have been made from blue-tinted skyscraper windows and from red glass from the San Jose Airport runway domes.

The binder used in Vetrazzo consists of cement, additives,  pigments and other recycled materials such as fly ash.  Since 85% of the surface is glass, it is mostly impervious to staining.  It is beautiful as a backsplash, vanity, table or desktop surface, or as a fireplace mantle and surround, as well as a kitchen countertop.  It is easy to care for and maintain,  Please visit our store to see samples and our own sparkling “Bistro Green with patina” counter.

Vetrazzo is available in full slabs (9' x 5'), half slabs (9' x 2.5'), and quarter slabs (4.5' x 2.5').
